Just last week I caught myself saying out loud that we have not had as much as a runny nose all winter long at our house. As soon as the words left my mouth I knew I had jinxed us and someone was bound to get sick. Sure enough, Saturday night I woke up to a dog barking, and then I remembered we don't have a dog. It was actually Brynn who was barking... yep, good old Mr. Croup has found us. I thought the steroid shot at the doctor would turn things around, but that doesn't seem to be the case. My Little Boo has been wollowing in misery for the last 5 days and nights. You know how misery loves company, last night Mason started in with the wheezing and barking, he showed up at my bedside and wheezed out, "I don't (wheeze, bark) feel well... (bark, bark) and I'm making (wheeze) funny noises (bark, bark)". I couldn't help but laugh at my funny little boy. I bundled him up in blankets and we went and sat out on the porch in the cold air until his airways loosened up a bit. I took him to the doctor first thing this morning and he was making everyone in the office laugh by telling them, "I'm not sick, I just make some funny noises" and "mommy, do you like my funny noises?". Mason is already back to his silly, active self so I guess it goes to show that laughter really is the best medicine. Poor Brynn is still a sick but very sweet little girl. We will continue to make her laugh so she, too, will soon be better.

That's been life at our house for the last two weeks! Luckily, McKenzie and Lexie just had bad colds, but Brayden got croup! Glad Mason is feeling better and hopefully Brynn can too!

That's exactly what Jaden does too! Hilarious. A smile just isn't the same without hardly being able to see.

Sorry to hear about the kiddos Rach. I'd say that Kayla has never had croup but then she will probably get it so I won't. :) The picture of Brynn makes me feel so sad to see her little eyes so down! Mason's smile is priceless! It was fun to see them at Kayla's birthday. We missed you though! It was fun to see Kayla try to take care of Brynn; bring her toys, want to hold her, it is good practice for when baby sister comes. Hope the colds pass soon!!
Isn't croup just miserable?! I think sometimes kids sound worse than they actually feel. Our kids have had their fair share over the last 8 years. We finally got our own steroids and nebulizer. Anyway, hope all is better soon. Maybe we'll see you at the end of the month. Hope it gets warmer there soon!
Ugh, the croup is awful. Macie had it a couple months ago and I seriously panicked when I first heard her barking seal cough. I finally realized that kids DO survive croup :) but it still broke my heart every time she coughed. Hope your kiddos recovery quickly!
Those swing pictures are SO adorable. Brynn got her top teeth! I love her big grin.
I really was laughing out loud when you said that Mason thought he just was making funny noises. He is so hilarious.
When I was about 5 or 6 I would kind of half squint my eyes in pictures because I thought I looked pretty when I did it.
